Fedrok AG and Greentsika Launch Token-Backed Recycling Initiative in Madagascar
Swiss blockchain firm Fedrok AG has teamed up with Malagasy social enterprise Greentsika to introduce a tokenized recycling program in Madagascar. The partnership, formalized through a June 2025 Memorandum of Understanding, leverages blockchain technology to incentivize plastic and organic waste collection.
Greentsika will manage on-the-ground operations through its 'Cash for Trash' program, while Fedrok AG provides the underlying blockchain infrastructure. The system may incorporate a project-specific token issued on Fedrok's LAYER 1 blockchain, with optional connectivity to its mainnet for Proof-of-Green validation. 'This isn't just about technology—it's about unlocking waste's economic value for communities and ecosystems,' said Fedrok CEO Dr. Philip Blazdell.
Participants will earn digital rewards traceable on-chain, potentially convertible to Fedrok's native FDK Coin. The initiative creates an auditable ledger of recycling contributions, merging environmental action with blockchain-enabled transparency.
